warmmin
heeatin
coookin
simmmerin is for when you need to either slow down and catch your breath or you want to
maintain your heart rate at an aerobic level > it is not a matter of a slower beat, it is just a
lessening of the energy of your movement > you can drop into simmmerin anywhere during a track
when you need or want to slow down or you can place good simmmerin tracks between heeatin or
coookin tracks and after your last coookin track
besides the value of simmmerin after coookin to maintain an aerobic level, it is also good for
tapering off and starting to cool down
when simmmerin you are likely to "zone-out" and find you have been rippl'n and slow stepping
while you mind was off somewhere else > this is a valuable aspect of bouboling
bomboling is all about the back beat
> according to Wikipedia, back beat is a
term applied to a syncopated accentuation
on the "off" beat > in a simple 4/4 rhythm
these are beats 2 and 4
bomba is a dance born in Puerto Rico > done as a traditional dance it is structured > done as an
individual's expression, it wanders freely into whatever movement the dancer feels
bomboling can and should be very very free > you have every dance in the world to borrow
movement from > you can also borrow any exercise move and turn it into dance > most
importantly, you can just get into the music and do what you feel > the more you bombol, the
more varied the moves you will incorporate into your routine
bomboling is divided into the four bouzals of: warmmin, heeatin, coookin & simmmerin
when bomboling it is important to heed all the cautions on the bouboling page
Will Smith's instruction to Kevin James in the movie Hitch to "don't ever do that again" should
not apply to your bomboling > go ahead and do whatever move you can come up with > in all
swooops, but especially in bomboling, feel free to express an "attitude" > struttin' with an
attitude and well felt tension is actually great exercise
when a track has a defined set-up at the beginning, just go along easy with it, the main rhythm
will come soon enough and you will "get into it" easier
some tracks have changes in rhythm or attitude that may entice you into a more energetic bouzal
> call these tracks "sneakers"
you can bombol with as heavy a pair of bols as work for you > the slower bouzals are better for
using heavy bols > when you get to coookin, consider using lighter bols
you should be moving the bols and bubb'n every-which-way, but when you get to coookin you can
lessen the bol movement down into roll'n and rippl'n while your feet and legs are "gettin' with
it" and still be burning calories like a Bunsen burner
if you do start using heavier bols, try counter-swinging your body weight against the weight of
the bols
try working with different combinations of swing'n, sync'n and bubb'n > swing-sync-bubb'n with
heavy bols and counter-swinging your body weight can be an unbelieveably pleasant sensation >
the best track we have found so far for this is Bonnie Raitt's Nick Of Time

warmmin is the first bouzal in bomboling and is just what it sounds like, taking it easy and
getting warmed up before moving on to heeatin > be sure and work every which way with both
your arms and legs > waggle all your parts to be sure they are loose and well warmed up
warmmin is a good bouzal for doing physical expressions of "attitude"

heeatin is the second bouzal in bomboling and is when you should really start feeling your body
heat > if you are just starting to work out with bouboling, take it easy with the heeatin until you
are sure your body can handle it

Coookin is the bouzal where you are moving the fastest > If you are new to bomboling be certain you are
ready for coookin > if you are a regular bomboler, it is important that you are loosened up and warmed up
well before starting to coook
Please be certain to follow all the cautions listed at the bottom of the bouboling page
Don't forget that if you are into the music you may not feel your actual level of exertion
